In 2023 Liberty made some good progress to address its unclaimed benefits, by reaching out to communities through community outreach programmes.
This initiative successfully paid out over R105 million to more than 13,000 beneficiaries. While this traditional tracing approach clearly led to positive results, the question is whether a supplementary digital solution could improve overall outcomes? The remaining figure of unclaimed benefits has not been reported. As the financial industry continues to evolve, we believe that a digital platform offers new possibility to reach more people, quicker and more cost-effectively, than locating beneficiaries one-by-one using traditional methods.
