Since 2015, Ithuba Holdings has been the operating company behind The National Lottery, over this time unclaimed lotto winnings have accumulated.
The Citizen, reports that in 2023 the lotto jackpots totaling R174 million remained unclaimed with a the largest most recent single claim being R32 million.
The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) disclosed this information and has urged South African’s to check their tickets. During these current socio-economic times these winnings have the power to change the future for lucky winners. Tickets expire in 365 days from the date of the draw and unclaimed prizes thereafter will be used to support various charitable initiatives.
